Submissions on the Regulatory Standards Bill Close 1pm, Mon 23 June
Are you interested in exploring with others what constitutional transformation could look like,
to actualise Te Tiriti o Waitangi?
Network Waitangi Whangārei invites Pākehā / Tauiwi / Tangata Tiriti peers to join an in-person group
to develop awareness and understanding of Matike Mai Aotearoa.
Process of Sessions:
The first session will include time for whakawhanaungatanga (getting to know one another). Sections of the Matike Mai report will be allocated to read ahead of each session, so participants need to access a copy of the report before the first session.
Order a hard copy from The Best Little Book Store
Tick the relevant option on the registration form to order directly from Network Waitangi Whangārei.
A supportive space will be created for participants to share their responses to the report, and explore what the transformation Matike Mai proposes might mean for us, individually and collectively. All sessions utilise grounding techniques and contemporary poetry to support learning.
When:
Tuesday 17th June: 10am - 12noon
Tuesday 1st, 15th & 29th July: 10am-11.30am

About Matike Mai:

The process to develop recommendations for constitutional change involved conversations between Māori of all ages across the country from 2012 to 2015. The Report of Matike Mai Aotearoa was published in 2016.
